Rice Flour Beetles make an excellent emergency feeder. This is because the culture will thrive long term
with very little care or maintenance. You'll always have a ready backup source of food.

Rice Flour Beetle Culture

Rice Flour Beetle Larvae are similar in appearance to d. melanogaster fruit fly larvae, but they are dry and live in the rice flour beetle medium. They are soft bodied grubs approximately 1/4'' long. Adults are small 1/8'' beetles that also live and reproduce in the medium. The culture needs no care whatsoever. When needed, sift the flour for larvae, rinse and feed.
